GB South by Southwest 2020

GB SOUTH BY SOUTHWEST

CAITHNESS TO CORNWALL
12 DAYS | 17TH – 29TH SEPTEMBER 2020

The Rally

We are all of us itching to get back on the road after being cooped up at home for so long and having had an entire year’s worth of travelling cancelled or indefinitely postponed. But at the same time, given the level of uncertainty surrounding lockdown restrictions and when/how they will be lifted, no one is committing to far flung events at present. And so it got us to thinking: we spend our lives escaping to the four corners of the earth but never really take the time to fully explore this beautiful island that we live on. I mean sure, the odd trip to the Lake District, Scotland once or twice, but never really dedicated time to exploring our country. And this seems a travesty really. It has so much to offer. Perhaps Coronavirus can serve as a stimulus for getting us out and exploring Great Britain.

We propose a 12 day rally, scheduled to start in Inverness on 17th September 2020, heading up to John O’Groats and then proceeding down the rugged west coast of Scotland, across the Lake District, Yorkshire Dales, and Peak District, into Wales, Snowdonia, the Pembrokeshire Coast, Brecon Beacons, and then Somerset, Devon, and Cornwall to finish at Land’s End on 29th September 2020. Loosely hugging the west coast of Scotland, England, and Wales, except where there are superb roads and/or places of interest that warrant heading inland for, following the compass heading ‘South by Southwest’ across mainland Britain.

This will not be designed as a punishing rally either in terms of driving distance/time or tricky road surfacing. This will be designed as a social for likeminded classic car enthusiasts with a driving element attached. Open to pre-1980’s classic cars. To request further information and to participate, please complete the contact form below.

Stay positive, stay well, and we greatly look forward to seeing you in Inverness on 17th September for the start of our 12-day post-lockdown social.
